Yesterday we stopped in to the Ahwatukee Farmers’ Market for some weekly shopping. While there we picked up a delicious Key Lime pie from SLiCE.

I found a couple rolls of film in my drawer so I dropped them off to get developed. It had been a while since I had taken them and I’d forgotten what was on them. The first two are from the Arizona Weddings publisher party last summer. The last frame is from a promotional shoot I did for The Center Bistro.

Mark + Liz: Reception

Last month Mark + Liz had a small reception lunch for friends and family. Liz is a very crafty person and an accomplished baker and a huge Elvis fan. She baked and decorated all the cup cakes herself along with making most of the decorations and favors for their lunch reception.

Backyard Garden

For quite a while Arielle has wanted to start a small garden in the backyard. She took a gardening class through the Phoenix Permaculture Guild with our friend Jill about 2 years ago. Shortly after that class, Arielle sent me to the City of Phoenix disposal facility to pick up a recycled trash bin to use as a compost bin. We’ve been composting since and have lots of worms, which is apparently good for composting. Recently with Jill’s help and a few heirloom seeds they spend an afternoon making our small garden happen. Then with a little water and a lot of love, we have spinach, lettuce, basil, kale, tomato plants and bean sprouts coming up. Our blackberry bush is starting to look like, well a bush, rather than a small green stick coming out of the ground.
Unfortunately, the only strawberry plant that is surviving is the potted one. We lost all three that where planted in the ground. They also planted various flowers around the edge of the garden.
We picked up a small fence to help keep the cats out, though we still have to yell at them they stick there heads through for a quick bit of salad. Oops is particularly bad about this. We even had a sunflower come up from a previous attempt at planting.

Happy Anniversary – Michael + Lucy

One year ago today Michael + Lucy were married at San Marcos in Chandler. Several months ago, Arielle and I caught up with them over dinner at Postino’s. During dinner Michael mentioned he was using his iPad as a digital photo frame to show off their wedding photos at work. His coworkers would always make the same comment, “Wow, she really loves you,” on the following photo.

Since then both have gone back to school and they recently moved into their first house. I’m looking to catch up with them at their house warming party. Happy Anniversary Michael + Lucy! I’m excited to see where all life’s adventures take you.

Bridal Shoot

Last month I shot new advertising photos for several wedding vendors. I wanted to thank Amy’s Floral Designs for the beautiful bouquets and center pieces, Debbie Verver for makeup Annabelle Hair Styles, Iris D Bridal for the dresses, Leah with A Silver Lining Veils, Laura with Raven Golf Club at South Mountain and models Nicole and Samantha for helping make an great shoot.

Sunday Breakfast

Last week, Arielle decided that she wanted to have a tasty breakfast including eggs, bacon and waffles with fruit and crème fraiche. So we got up sunday morning and made the delicious breakfast that Arielle had been thinking about all week. After breakfast we played some video games then took a 2 hour nap. Overall a great relaxing Sunday. Here are a couple photos from breakfast.

Arielle and I met Liz a couple weeks after we moved to Phoenix. She was our first Phoenix friend. She’s the first person that was nice enough to watch our cats when we went out of town for the weekend. They headed downtown for a justice of the peace ceremony and I met up with them afterwards at the Phoenix Public Market for some wedding photos. Congratulations Mark + Liz!
